“My Journey at STRONGSIDE and the changes that have taken place started at STRONGSIDE 1.0. My daughter and son in law (DeLaney and Alan Campbell) invited us to come see a gym competition. We were amazed at the Athetes we watched and what they did. I WISHED it was something I could do. I talk to Mitchel and he explained the basics of the workouts and how each exercise can be scaled to each person’s ability.

DeLaney and Alan Campbell encouraged us to try it. Then Came the Legends class. This was a class designed for those of is who have been “Out of the game” for let’s say “A While” (Like 35 years or so)

So truly begins the journey of a lifetime with this first step.

When I began this journey 4.5 years ago I topped out at 323 lbs as of this writing I was at 236. On August 5th I competed in my first super sprint triathlon. (250M Swim/ 7.25 Miles bike ride and a 2.5 miles run.) It was hard and Hot but I finished in 98 min.

The Tri was just a step on this journey. One of many different steps taken over the last 4.5 years at STRONGSIDE. I so much appreciate the encouragement from Mitchel over the years. The great coachs who have given direction to this trip and Karri Fox who is there every workout to let me know “You’ll be fine.”

This all happens with a great support team Headed up by my biggest supporter Judy Stewart and my family who encourages me every step of the way. They are the reason for making the changes to become more active and more healthy. (3 grandkids a big reason too and I want to see them grow up)

It is a marathon and not a sprint. My football coach had a saying I use often. Head Down and keep moving forward. That is true for all of us. At the gym, office or in life. Head down and keep moving forward.”
