“Lean & Mean”
Week 2 Of 4 In Micro Cycle 3 Of 5
1.) Happy April! Everything in training is now back to normal, since The Open is over, De-loading is over, etc. We are still in the “Lean & Mean” training cycle but you will see a good bit of accessory work 2-3 times a week. Accessory work is all the little exercises you do you make the large exercises better. It also hones the basics. You’ll see biceps curls to strengthen the elbow joint so it does hurt during large sets of pull-ups, super sets of floor press and DB press to train the shoulder girdle and more. Take full advantage of this, push hard in the strength to get stronger.
2.) You’ll also see a lot of complex work which is why we want to spend time on accessory work. The more accessory work you do with the complex work (holding onto the bar and doing a lot of reps in different positions) will help progress your strength.
3.) We are going to put you in a lot of uncomfortable situations as well. Some of these WOD’s are very challenging in intensity. We are taking the strength training and those segments and working on skill. Your WOD work is all about “Lean & Mean” but that means you’ll be put in some physical situations that will cause you to dig deep. M/W/F this week age few aggressive and will ask a lot of you – good thing you’re a strong mama-jama who can handle it 🙂
4.) You will see a lot of linear progression from last week and some of the movements link up just on different days. Let’s go to work!! 🙂
